Default PvE Guilds

Looking over the forums on many sites, I've noticed a pattern in reguards to PvE first guilds. Most seem to either be small, under 10 members, or medium, roughly 20-30 members. That happens to be the size of my guild, and I noticed in another thread posted yesterday, someone commented that their guild was the same size roughly as well. Compare that to PvP guilds, where I see many 60-100 player guilds.

So my question, is the size of PvE guilds a result of Guild War's support for PvE?

And if you have a Guild larger than 30 PvE members, what are your thoughts reguarding keeping members involved/excited?

Thank you

i would like to note i have seen the same thing.. our guild is 30-40 players maybe.. but not all of them are active at the same time,.... many members have over time left to join pvp guild or were booted by an officer when he left.... only got about half the base back when that happened....
we ar currently looking to bolster our ranks with more pve involved people.... pvp on an occasion.. more to come i'm sure but we will not loose sight of pve......
possibly a result of anet seeming to accomadate more of a pvp side of the game.....

our PvP guild has nine members, we do not want over 12 though. we are all active so there is no need to have 40+ extra people who will not be main PvP/GvG players. i think that pvp guilds with 50+ just use that as a way of recruiting new members.

I think that deals with the maturity of the player. GvG guilds that have 50+ members recuit players with their rating. This tells you the level of type of player joining them. As my guild has grown to 30 members we are getting on average one recuit a week now. Our averege guild age is 24 and that seem to be the case with most PvE based guilds. Now we allow both PvP / PvE players in the guild. we have reached a point were we are going to vote on a team capt and start a gvg team. If a members join with gvg rating those players dont last. I will keep my 30 active players who are both good players and now friends. We care more about the ind. playing the game than the chr on the screen.
